Indian Technical and Economic
Cooperation (ITEC) was launched by a decision
of the Indian Cabinet on September 15,
1964. This is a bilateral programme of
assistance, and along with its corollary
programme SCAAP, covers 156 countries
in Asia, Africa, East Europe, Central
& Latin America, Pacific and Small
Island, which are invited to share in
the Indian Development experience acquired
over six decades post independence.

Plans of the Ministry of External Affairs,
Government of India dates back to 1989,
when CMC was the first company to provide
training in IT to foreign participants
under these plans. Since then, CMC has
trained more than 4500 people from over
participating 100 countries.
Education
at CMC
One of the pioneering
companies to offer IT education for a
wide spectrum of people, CMC took the
lead in Education & Training in India
in the year 1978. Today, CMC has training
centres in 6 cities, viz. New Delhi, Mumbai,
Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
Additionally, CMC has around
150 Authorized training centres across
the country. The Education & Training
division has tie-ups with various technology
partners to provide quality training and
testing services, Sun, IBM, Thomson Prometric
to name a few.
CMC's training capabilities
are well respected and recognized by employers
across the country. The excellence of
its training programmes has been acknowledged
by participants from the Commonwealth
Secretariat, various United Nations Agencies,
the World Bank, Ministry of Finance, Members
of Parliament, Department of Statistics,
Nuclear Power Corporation (NPC), Bureau
of Police Research & Development and
a number of other organisations.
