Xilinx-CMC tie up for Apac’s first development centre

The US-based $1.3 billion Xilinx Inc, has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata-owned CMC Ltd, to start Asia Pacific’s first development centre here on Wednesday.

The new Xilinx-CMC India Development Centre (XIDC) is being established to develop field programmable array (FPGA) solutions targeted at high-growth markets, such as digital consumer electronics, automotive and communications, said Willem P Roelandts, president, chief executive officer and chairman of Xilinx Inc.

Akshay Prakash, managing director of XIDC said, the IDC will house 300 professionals, in the next three years.
