CMC appoints Kalpana Morparia of ICICI Bank as a director

Mumbai, 11 March, 2008: CMC, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services Limited, announced that the Company's Board of Directors had appointed Ms. Kalpana Morparia, Vice Chair - Insurance Securities & Asset Management, ICICI Group, as Independent Director with effect from today. Ms. Morparia was the Joint Managing Director of ICICI Bank till May, 2007. A graduate in science and law from Bombay University, Ms. Morparia joined ICICI Limited in 1975 and led the ICICI group's major corporate structuring initiative, the merger of ICICI Limited with ICICI Bank to create India's second largest bank.

"Ms. Kalpana Morparia's extensive experience in banking and finance will enrich the deliberations of the CMC Board and I am sure that her contribution and counsel will be of great value to the company in the years to come," said S. Ramadorai, Chairman, CMC.

Mr. C.B.Bhave has resigned from the CMC board on joining SEBI as Chairman. "The board would like to thank Mr Bhave for his guidance and counsel to CMC during the last seven years and wishes him all the best in his role as the head of India's capital market regulator, SEBI," Mr Ramadorai added.

With the addition of Ms Morparia, there are seven directors on the CMC board including four independent directors. These include Mr. S Ramadorai, Mr. R Ramanan, Mr. Ishaat Hussain, Dr. KRS Murthy, Mr. Surendra Singh and Mr. Shardul Shroff.
