The project involved processing of 228
million census forms collected during
the Census 2001 from households all over
India. The processing of 228 million forms
was to be completed in a span of 2 years
by scanning and Intelligent Character
Recognition (ICR) of forms. We achieved

than 2 per cent false positive rate.
Speaking
on the occasion, Mr R Ramanan MD and CEO,

it 5 months ahead of the target schedule.
The experience gained would be leveraged
for replicating the solution within the
country and abroad."

development, customisation and tuning
of ICR software and workflow management
of complete scanning and processing operations
at 15 RGI Data Centers spread across the
country in a two shift operation involving
