Inauguration of CMC's Wireless LAN

The W-LAN, designed and developed by CMC, based on 802.11b standard was inaugurated by T N Chaturvedi, governor of Karnataka at Raj Bhavan, Bangalore on November 7, 2003.

This is the first of its kind implemented for government of Karnataka. AC Ashok Kumar - branch manager, CMC Bangalore was a special invitee for this event along with Balaveera Reddy - vice chancellor of VTU, Shiv Kumar - IT secretary, S M Acharya - principal secretary DPAR and Rajeev Chawla - eGovernance secretary.

A demo on W-LAN was given by S Jaikant, senior manager (CS) to VIPs and press. In his welcome address C S Suranjana, principal secretary to governor, specially praised CMC team for the excellent work done. This event received wide coverage in both the print and electronic media.
