Inauguration of Xerox Centre of Excellence at CMC Centre, Hyderabad

Xerox Corporation, USA has awarded CMC-TCS a major contract in the print domain. This was a win against stiff competition from Indian and international players. This multi-million dollar account has substantial product development prospects in the printing, scanning and imaging domains involving embedded systems, Unix, Java, desktop technologies and IDM services.

A Centre of Excellence for Xerox (Xerox-CoE) has been set up at the CMC Centre in Hyderabad. A big lab with state-of-the-art production printers is in place to carry out all the design, development, test and sustenance activities to deliver quality services to Xerox as a strategic partner. This project is the first of its kind for CMC-TCS.

The Center of Excellence was formally inaugurated on April 27, 2004 in the presence of Mr Eugene Williams, vice president, software engineering operations, Mr Steven Christensen, project manager, distributed development of Xerox Corporation, USA, Mr Rajesh Nambiar, regional manager, TCS - Hyderabad, Mr Chinta Prakash, general manager, CMC - southern region and other senior dignitaries from both CMC and TCS.

This deal showcases the synergy between TCS and CMC, leveraging the combined strengths in brand name, technologies, processes and project management to deliver a true value proposition to Xerox Corporation. An MoU has been signed between CMC and TCS for jointly providing the services to Xerox Corporation.
