IT solutions at world expo
November 1-5, 2003
The
19th World Mining Congress and Expo, the
premier mining forum and exhibition, was
held in India from November 1 to 5, 2003,
after a gap of two decades. The congress
was held at the Hotel Ashoka and the expo
at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
The theme of the congress was "Mining
in the 21st Century - Quo Vadis?"
About 157 technical papers from 33 countries
were presented at the congress.
CMC
also exhibited its strengths in providing
specialised turnkey information technology
solutions to the mining industry during
the five days of the expo. The company's
stall attracted a large number of visitors
and generated a number of useful leads.
CMC also received the Special Exhibitor
award from the organisers.
Some of the important dignitaries who
visited our stall were Mr Kariya Munda,
minister of coal, government of India,
Laxmi Chand, special secretary, coal,
and chairman, Coal India Limited, and
S K Agrawal, CMD, National Mineral Development
Corporation Limited.
The
directors of all major mining companies
also visited our stall and evinced a keen
interest in CMC's products.
