GENISYS Configurator was commercially launched in 2005 at ICICI Lombard. Initially ICICI Lombard used GENISYS Configurator only for their retail line of business, primarily motor. They used other in-house applications for other lines of business. Over years ICICI Lombard has replaced their other applications with GENISYS Configurator. Now their entire product line is serviced by GENISYS Configurator and they are continuously launching new insurance products in the market using the application. They have also introduced a Corporate Rule Repository using Blaze Rule Engine with which GENISYS Configurator has been successfully integrated.
In 2007, GENISYS Configurator was implemented in Universal SOMPO General Insurance Company (USGI) and Cholamandalam MS GIC (Chola). Since then these companies have been expanding their business using GENISYS Configurator. “Chola has expanded their delivery model using GENISYS Configurator portal and GENISYS Configurator mobile which were introduced to address their changing business process and servicing channel requirements".
In 2009, GENISYS Configurator’s broker solution variant was launched. Tata Business Support Services (TBSS) started conducting their broking business with 7 insurance companies for Tata Motors Vehicles, using GENISYS Configurator. Over the years more companies have been added and the services are now being offered for Nissan and Ford vehicles, too.
In 2010, for the first time GENISYS Configurator was launched outside India at New India Assurance, Fiji.
GENISYS Configurator went through a major revamp of underlying technology platform in 2010. The 5-layer architecture was introduced. MS Silverlight based forms replaced transactional forms based on ASP .Net, the business logic tier was migrated to ASP .Net 3.5 from ASP .Net 1.1 and Eclipse BIRT was introduced as the reporting and analytics tool. Additionally, the following were introduced, too:
- Workflow Definition Engine and Rule Engine based on Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation
- Multi-dimensional Tariff Engine
- Transactional Document Designer
- User Interface Designer
As a result, the need for manual coding for insurance product logic definition was gradually eliminated; now the entire code is generated out of the Product Designer tool kit. GENISYS Configurator also became fully service oriented. Also, performance and scalability of the application went through huge improvement; bandwidth requirement also came down substantially.
GENISYS Configurator on the new technology platform was first deployed in United India Insurance Company (UIIC) and Reliance General Insurance Company (RGICL) in 2011. In 2012, GENISYS Configurator marked it’s footprint in Africa and in the Life Assurance business; National Insurance Corporation of Tanzania (NICT) chose GENISYS Configurator as their core insurance solution for both Property and Casualty (P&C) as well as Life Assurance business. In the same year, Magma HDI Gerling (MHDI), TATA AIG GIC (TAGIC) and Liberty Videocon General Insurance (LVGI) also selected GENISYS Configurator. Click for more details.
