The
construction management system facilitates
maintenance of necessary data as well
as generation of reports and queries for
the I&CAD department of the Andhra
Pradesh government, to aid in planning,
design, construction and monitoring for
its projects.
It provides accurate and relevant information
to make effective decisions at different
levels. It improves management of high-volume
data and minimises information delays
at different management levels, apart
from enabling effective sharing of data
and information among various management
levels and concerned field offices.
Scope
Design, development and installation of
a construction management system for effective
monitoring and control of ongoing construction
activities of the Srirama Sagar project
(SRSP) and the Srisailam right bank canal
(SRBC), both irrigation projects.

IT-based
construction management
The system is based on a client-server
configuration. Servers and clients of
the required configuration are installed
at key offices of both the projects -
four division offices, one circle office
and one chief engineer's office in each
of the two projects, and also at headquarters,
Hyderabad.
A
similar construction management system
has also been designed, developed and
installed for Neeravari Nigam Limited,
a project of the Water Resources Department,
Government of Karnataka.
