Details
Study, design, develop and implement
a comprehensive software solution for
computerising the operations of the department
of health and family welfare.
Technical
architecture
FHIMS is based on a decentralised
client-server architecture in order to
facilitate independent functioning of
all the units of the department; facilitating
information flows from lower units to
higher units and vice versa. Senior officers
consolidate information at higher units
from time to time, for analysis and decision-making.
Pentium
servers are located at the district head
office and the state head office. The
grassroots level operation is done on
a Pentium processor client which runs
in a Windows environment, with Oracle
as the database. The application is developed
on Microsoft Visual Basic.
The
connectivity between the head office server
and the client at the PHC is based on
an Ethernet LAN, using dial-up lines.
