The Karnataka government has been in the forefront of using information technology for developing services in the state and in developing the economy. It believes that effective implementation of eGovernance will bring the benefits of IT to the common man.

Mukhya Vahini
A project under the IT Millennium Policy of the Karnataka state government. Former chief minister S M Krishna and his secretariat in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, directly used CMC's Mukhya Vahini, an integrated information and decision-support system for a head of government.


Project details
The system contains the following modules:
Constituency management system: Manages information from the CM's constituency. It covers village information, including basic village profile, crop details, election details, details of important persons, the status and progress of various departments - education, health, water supply, housing, etc.

Global investors' meet: Monitors the progress of various projects at different nodal agencies.

Department information system: Maintains records of the physical, financial progress and achievements of the various departments.

Budget ATR: Maintains records of the action taken on the various provisions of the budget by each department.

Cabinet affairs: Maintains department-wise, the subjects that are scheduled for cabinet meetings.

Proposals pending with the government of India: Maintains a list of the proposals of departments that are pending with the government of India. It also maintains scanned documents of the letters issued by the department.
