million. LDA manages around 200,000 properties,
and has an annual turnover of Rs 3 billion.

Lucknow's city landscape is changing so
fast that a six-month timespan can seem
like an era gone by. For urban housing
agency officials, this is a nightmare,
as it makes future planning difficult.
The existing system of management and
control makes it difficult to cope, resulting
in time and cost overruns.
Management
of information is a critical factor in
all functions. In handling an extremely
large and complex information base, it
becomes imperative to use computers in
a systematic manner to efficiently manage
information in urban housing agencies.
The
Lucknow Development Agency commissioned
CMC to conduct a study: 'Identification
of key areas for computerisation'. Various
problems and critical areas in the functioning
