The trade tax department is the organisation
that collects tax on the sale or purchase
of goods at a certain point of sale, as
well as purchase of goods throughout the
state
CMC
was awarded a turnkey project by the UP
trade taxes department to streamline its
tax collections by setting up an online,
integrated, computerised system. The project
included consulting, procurement, delivery
of hardware, networking, system software,
application development, systems integration
and maintenance.

The
scope of the project was the state-wide
implementation of the application across
all their locations.
Technical
architecture
The application is on a client-server
architecture, with a distributed database
at each circle office location. The data
is consolidated at the regional office
and the head office. The platform is Oracle
7 as the back-end and PowerBuilder as
the front-end.
