S Ramadorai, Chairman
In February 2011, S Ramadorai stepped into public service when the Indian Government appointed him as the Advisor to the Prime Minister in the National Skill Development Council, in the rank of Cabinet Minister. The Council, which is headed by the Prime Minister, seeks to develop a strategy for Skill Development at the National level with a view to address the skill deficit.
Ramadorai, continues as the Vice - Chairman of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, a company he has been associated with, for the past 39 years. He took over as CEO in 1996 when the company's revenues were at $ 160 million and has since then led the company through some of its most exciting phases, including its going public in 2004. In October 2009, he stepped down as CEO, leaving a $ 6 billion global IT services company to his successor, while he took over the mantle of Vice Chairmanship of the company. Today, the company's revenues stand at USD 8 billion for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2011, with an employee base of over 198,500 of the world's best trained IT consultants in 42 countries.
Ramadorai is also the Chairman of other Tata companies - Tata Elxsi Ltd, Tata Technologies Ltd, CMC Ltd and CRL Ltd. He is on the Boards of a number of non Tata companies and educational institutions - Tata Industries, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Bombay Stock Exchange and the MIT Sloan School of Management (EMSAB).
In recognition of Ramadorai's commitment and dedication to the IT industry he was awarded the Padma Bhushan (India's third highest civilian honour) in January 2006. In April 2009, he was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to the Indo-British economic relations.
His academic credentials include a Bachelors degree in Physics from Delhi University (India), a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (India) and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of California – UCLA (USA). In 1993, Ramadorai attended the Sloan School of Management's highly acclaimed Senior Executive Development Program.

Ramanathan Ramanan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
R. Ramanan is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CMC Limited. He was inducted as the Deputy Managing Director and COO of CMC Limited in 16th October 2001 and became the Managing Director and CEO of CMC in 2003. During his tenure in CMC, the share price of CMC has grown by over 600% to a peak of Rs.1500+/ per share in 2008.
Ramanan has been associated with TCS and the TATA group since 1981.He is currently the Chairman of CMC Americas, a wholly owned subsidiary of CMC in USA, and on the Board of Directors of e2eSerwizol (recently named as Tata Business Support Services Limited).
Ramanan has been instrumental in overseeing the transformation of CMC Limited from a public sector government-owned organization to an agile global organization, focusing on the rapidly growing private sector of India and CMC forays in the international market. He has played an important role in CMC initiatives in spurring computerisation of various business processes and national IT solutions in India using indigenous technology. He has been instrumental in leading CMC’s focus and participation in large scale national Systems Integration projects, Mission Mode State and Federal Government e-Governance initiatives, Defense initiatives, space research computerization initiatives, end to end Digitization and related Knowledge processing initiatives like the Indian census, and growth of nationwide IT and networking infrastructure, Education and Training. He has also been playing a key role in TCS-CMC synergies in addressing the fast growing Embedded Systems and R&D Outsourcing global market.
Ramanan’s initiatives to promote business and IT cooperation between New Zealand and India has resulted in his being appointed as an Advisor to the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Beachheads program. This is a unique honor bestowed by the NZ High Commission and NZ government to leverage his expertise for promoting NZ companies on a global platform.
Ramanan is an invited keynote speaker to many National and International forums related to the growth of Indian IT including Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings (CHOGM), European Round Table Conference (ETRE), Computer Society of India (CSI), NASSCOM (National Association of Software Companies) and National eGovernance conferences in India and abroad.
He has been the recipient of some prestigious national awards like ‘Udyog Rattan Award’ conferred upon him by the Institute of Economic Studies, ‘Indira Gandhi Sadbhavna Award’ and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award’ for his outstanding individual achievements and distinguished services to the nation from the National Integration & Economic Council.
Under his able guidance, CMC has been honoured with the ‘Excellence Award’ for its contribution in industrial development and the ‘Gold Trophy’ of EMPI -The Indian Express Indian Innovation Awards. CMC was also one of the recipients of the honour by Defence Research Development Organisation for its valuable contribution in the production of ‘Networking System Integration Software’ based on DRDO Technology.

S Mahalingam, Director
Seturaman Mahalingam or “Maha”, as he is better known, started his professional career with Tata Consultancy Services in 1970. A chartered accountant by qualification, Maha began his career as an IT consultant and thereafter played a major role in marketing TCS services across the globe, developing processes and creating large software development centers for the Company.
As an early starter in the Indian IT industry, Maha has played a key role in helping TCS become a $ 6 billion global company with over 140,000 employees.
Prior to becoming the Chief Financial Officer in February 2003, Maha has managed many of the key functions in TCS including Marketing, Operations, Education and Training as well as Human Resources. He managed the company’s operations in London and New York in the early days of TCS’ global journey.
Maha’s experience, during the formative years of the IT industry in the 1970s and 1980s, has given him significant standing within the IT industry. He is a former chairman of the Southern Region of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s apex industry body as well as a fellow of the Computer Society of India. He was also the President of the Institute of Management Consultants of India. He is on the board member of several TCS’ subsidiaries of TCS.
Maha was conferred the ‘CFO of the Year’ award 2006 announced by International Market Assessment (IMA). Maha was also the winner of CNBC TV18’s Best Performing CFO Award in the Technology Sector for 2007.
Born in February 1948, Maha is married with two children and lives in Mumbai.

K R S Murthy, Director
K R S Murthy was born in 1938 and has a doctorate in business administration from the Harvard Business School and did his masters in management at the Sloan School, MIT. Dr Murthy, who has written extensively on strategic and public enterprise management, is on the board of the National Stock Exchange and on the governing boards of several non-governmental organisations and educational institutions. He is currently the chairman of the Board for Information Technology Education Standards, an organisation promoted by the government of Karnataka.

Surendra Singh, Director
Surendra Singh was born in 1937 and is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer. He has held a number of important positions, including Cabinet Secretary with the Government of India, Secretary to the Ministry of Industry, Special Secretary to the Government of India and Special Secretary to the Prime Minister of India. Mr Singh has also served as Executive Director on the board of the World Bank and as Director on the board of the International Finance Corporation.

Kalpana Morparia, Director
Kalpana Morparia was born in 1949 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Law from Bombay University. She is the Chief Executive Officer, M/s J P Morgan India Pvt. Ltd. She has 34 years of experience with ICICI Group; she has held several important positions and had been instrumental in the ICICI Group's major corporate structuring initiative — the merger of ICICI Limited with ICICI Bank, to create India's second largest bank.

Sudhakar Rao, Director
Sudhakar Rao, 62, is a retired IAS Officer of 1973 batch. Rao holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He held several key positions in the State Government of Karnataka as Chairman & Managing Director of the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC), Principal Secretary- Finance; Principal Secretary- Home; Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka; Chief Secretary of Karnataka etc. He also served the Union Government as Director in Prime Minister's Office, Jt. Secretary in the Ministry of Power; Minister(Economics) in the Embassy of India in Washington etc. He also served as a Member of the Public Enterprises Selection Board for a year.
Rao is on the Boards of various prominent companies viz. Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd, L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Ltd, etc. He is also Group Advisor to the Manipal Education and Medical Group.
Rao was conferred the Kannada Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka.
